Merriam Pinnacle (11,180)

Merriam Pinnacle (The Merpin) at 11180'~ is on the East Spur of Mt Idaho in the Lost River Range. This summit was first reached by WA McIntyre and OJ Smith of Twin Falls, ID on July 11,1964. They used a rope to negotiate the 40' knife edge just NE of the summit.

View SW to Merpin from near the end of the road, West Fork Pahsimeroi River. The true summit lies 1/4 mile behind the high point of the face as shown in this photo.
